About the Faculty
A science faculty of four departments — Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics — offering undergraduate and postgraduate study at Sule Lamido University Kafin Hausa.
Our story
History
Sule Lamido University Kafin Hausa was established in 2013 by the Jigawa State Government and licensed by the National Universities Commission.
The Faculty of Natural and Applied Sciences teaches and researches across the life sciences, chemical sciences, mathematics, and physics. Undergraduate programmes lead to B.Sc. degrees in Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics.
Postgraduate routes in the same four departments include master’s degrees, doctoral degrees, and postgraduate diplomas, with specialisations published by the University’s postgraduate admissions office.
In July 2025 the Faculty hosted the University’s first international conference, Science and Innovation in the 21st Century, under the deanship of Dr. Idris Zakariyya Kiri.

How the Faculty is organised
The Dean provides academic and administrative leadership and represents the Faculty in University management. Heads of Department, the postgraduate coordinator, level coordinators, and examination officers support teaching, laboratories, student progression, and examinations.
