The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Communication Society Nigeria Chapter under the funding of the IEEE ComSoC and Humanitarian Technologies Board (HTB) of the IEEE has organised Digital Literacy and Digital Marketing Skills training to 100 students of the faculty of Computing and Information technology on how they can maximise the availability of the funded free Internet service deployed in the faculty for wealth creation and effective learning outcomes in the University. The training which took place between 30th and 31st January 2024, had in attendance Dr Abdulazeez Rislana Kanya, SMIEEE who is the Deputy Vice Chancellor IT, Research and Innovation of the Baze University Abuja, and also the Technical Adviser to the Jigawa State Government on IT and Digital Economy. Dr Rislana presented a seminar to participants on how to meet the expectations of 21st Century Jobs and Works.

The training program was flag-up by Prof. Ibrahim Mohammed Yakasai, the Vice Chancellor of Sule Lamido University kafin Hausa and Jigawa State Government Representative, Honourable Habib Kawu, the Special Adviser to the Government on IT, Technology and Innovation.
During the Two day workshop, participants were taught on various important topics, including search engine optimization, social media marketing, email marketing, and content creation. Our experienced facilitators shared their expertise and provided valuable insights, helping the participants better understand the strategies and tactics involved in effective digital marketing campaigns. The participants actively engaged in hands-on exercises, real-life case studies, and interactive sessions allowing them to gain practical knowledge in implementing digital marketing campaigns and develop essential skills required in today’s digital landscape.
