The Faculty is headed by Professor Umma Abdulwahid, a Professor of Educational Psychology,born on 22nd November 1958 in Dabi, Ringim Local Government Area of Jigawa State, she attended Shehu Abdullahi Primary School, Kaduna , Federal Government College Maiduguri in the year 1966-1972, 1973-1977 were she obtained her Primary School Leaving Certificate, West African School Certificate and University of Maiduguri, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria for her M.Ed (Psychology) , Ph.D (Educational Psychology) between 1983-1985 , 1988-1995 respectively.
A Fulbright International Scholar of Yale University, New Heaven, Connecticut, U.S.A. started her teaching carrier in year 1982,she was once Deputy Director Science and Technology Education, Deputy Director Schools and Higher Education all in Department of Education, FCDA, Abuja, and also Provost, FCT College of Education, Zuba, Abuja,until her appointment she was Director, School of General and Preliminary Studies, Sule Lamido University and has chaired a number of different commitees in the University.

Umma is a professional member of National Council for Exceptional Children, Counselling Association of Nigeria, American Psychological Association, World Council for Gifted and Talented Children, Nigerian Society for Child Protection, and Primary Education Studies Association of Nigeria and she is blessed with two female children.
