The Entrepreneurship Action Us (ENACTUS) Programme has been described as an activity that strongly aligns with the vision and development priorities of the University Visitor, His Excellency, Malam Umar A. Namadi, FCA, the Executive Governor of Jigawa State as it aligns directly to the sixth pillar of his “Development Agenda for Greater Jigawa 2023,” which emphasises youth empowerment, employment and productivity. This assertion was made by the Vice-Chancellor, Sule Lamido University Kafin Hausa (SLUK), Professor Muhammad Ibrahim Yakasai, fcasson, mnae during the 1st ENACTUS Day celebration of the University on Thursday 30th April, 2026. Professor Yakasai added that the programme, was not just a student organisation, but a global movement that empowers young people to use entrepreneurial action to transform lives and build a better, more sustainable world. The Vice-Chancellor further described the theme of the lecture presented at the occasion with the title “From Campus to Community: How ENACTUS Shapes Future Leaders and Change Makers,” as timely and highly relevant as it captures the essence of the University strive to achieve in producing graduates who are not only academically sound but also socially responsible, innovative, and impactful.
In his welcome address, the Faculty Advisor and Dean Faculty of Social and Management Sciences (FSMS), Dr. Mustapha Hussaini, disclosed that the lecture was organised to commemorate the ENACTUS Day and to celebrate innovation, leadership, and community engagement.
While presenting the paper, the Guest Lecturer, Professor Mukhtar Halliru, from the Department of Business Administration, Bayero University Kano, unveiled that by equipping students with the capacity to create opportunities, rather than merely seek them, ENACTUS contribute meaningfully to addressing unemployment and enhancing productivity among the youth, a synergy that underscores the relevance of the occasion, not only within the University but also within the broader socio-economic aspirations of Jigawa State and the country at large.
